From the club's website

Grand River Karate is a welcoming organization dedicated to training, learning, contributing and teaching. At Grand River Karate, we are a not-for-profit and practice a non-competitive traditional style of Okinawan Shorin-Ryu Karate called Shidokan. This comprehensive martial arts program emphasizes the utilization of our natural body movements by imparting fundamental concepts and forms (kata). Additionally, we impart efficient and effective self-defence applications through extensive partner training. Friendship, Cooperation, and Learning are our core values and the foundation of the Beikoku Shidokan Karatedo Association. Seikichi Iha’s (Hanshi 10th Dan) vision is that through this shared interest, we can mutually grow and enhance our life skills, both within and outside the dojo.
