Ground Control Academy Brazilian Jiu Jitsu

Ground Control Academy is a beginner friendly jiu jitsu and martial arts gym located in Sherwood Park with classes for kids and adults. Our students develop focus, confidence, emotional control, and mental resilience through our programs. Jiu Jitsu helps kids (and adults!) handle life’s challenges with discipline and self-belief — all while having a blast on the mats. Confidence that comes from knowing how to defend yourself physically carries over into everyday life. Our programs equip both kids and adults with the tools to stay calm, handle stress, and face setbacks with strength — on and off the mats. Our classes are built for anyone — no Jiu Jitsu or fitness experience required. Students learn real self defense, build mental toughness, and get into the best shape of their lives in a fun, safe, beginner-friendly environment. Best part? Jiu Jitsu is so fun, you won’t even realize how much exercise you’re getting. Trying something new can feel intimidating — we get it. That’s why we’ve built a welcoming space where beginners feel safe, supported, and encouraged. No egos. No pressure. Just a community that’s got your back and wants to see you succeed.
