Taekwondo is a complex Korean martial art. While it emphasizes on kicks and foot technique, it also utilizes upper body movements such as blocks and powerful strikes, making it a unique and dynamic performance sport. World Taekwondo branches into Sport Poomsae and Olympic Sparring which is currently a recognized sport in the Olympics. Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu is a predominantly ground-based martial art, using the principals of leverage, angles, pressure and timing, as well as knowledge of the human anatomy. Unlike other martial arts that focus on strikes and/or kicks, jiujitsu focuses on close-contact “grappling” holds and techniques, and the application of chokes and joint-manipulations. Muay Thai is a standing or striking combat sport in which players use their concentration, reflexes, endurance, speed and strength. They throw punches wearing gloves and focus on striking at opponents and pads using fists, knees, shins and elbows. It also incorporates elements of stand-up grappling known as the clinch.
