From the club's website

Halifax ALTA Gymnastics Club was founded in 1991 when Keiji Yamanaka, Tak Kikuchi, and Carleen Cavanagh merged the two clubs Nova Gold/Tumblebugs and Maritime Academy together. After 6 years at the South Street Gorsebrook gym, ALTA moved into our current building in 1997. The name ALTA comes from the "Altius" (meaning "higher") part of the Olympic motto "Citius, Altius, Fortius" (faster, higher, stronger). Our motto has been inspiring our gymnasts to reach higher and achieve their fullest potential for 35 years. Fall 2026 Classes are full and we are no longer accepting students onto the waitlists. Parent and Tot - one an adult participates with their child. Mon & Wed am parent and tot classes are for 2024 & 2025 children. All other parent and tot classes are for children born in 2024. See start dates, cancelled days due to holidays and end dates for classes.

  • Is there a trial class, and is it free?
  • Are classes grouped by age, by level, or both?
  • Is there a yearly registration or insurance fee on top of class fees?
  • What should a gymnast wear, and can parents watch?
  • What happens to a missed class: is there a make-up?

Photos, classes and prices come from the club

We never copy them from a club's website: they are the club's own, and they go out of date. They appear here once the club claims this profile and adds them.
