Fall River Taekwon-Do

(( No Classes on August 11th and 12th )) Fall River Taekwon-Do teaches the moral and social values of Chang Hun style traditional Taekwon-Do. Chang Hun style Taekwon-Do focuses on self defence, not tournaments. No further changes in the art after volume 5 (1999) of the condensed encyclopedia, as approved by our founder General Choi Hong Hi. We won in 2020, 2021, 2022, 2023 and 2024. Well done, five years in a row! Taekwon-Do is a martial art developed in the 1940’s by General Choi Hong Hi and named on April 11th 1955, in Seoul, Korea. Literally, “Tae” means to kick or smash with the foot, “Kwon” means to punch or destroy with the hand, and “Do” means the art or way. As a martial art Taekwon-Do encompasses both the physical and mental in its training. Physically, one of Taekwon-Do’s goals is excellent physical conditioning, involving cardio training, stretching, hand and foot technique, original Chang Hun patterns, sparring and self defence. Mentally, Taekwon-Do provides the practitioner with the tools to learn about themselves, personal challenge, build self confidence, teamwork and relieve stress.
