Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu academy in Bridgeland, Calgary. Self-defence-first fundamentals, gi and no-gi, taught by black belts Pablo Garcia and Sebastian Lopez. First week free. Self-defence-first Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu close to downtown Calgary, on the border of Bridgeland and Crescent Heights. Gi and no-gi classes. We welcome adults at all levels. 622 Edmonton Trail N.E., 3rd Floor. Monday to Thursday evenings. Wiley Jiu-Jitsu YYC opened in 2014, when Jeff Wiley moved to Calgary from Regina. It is a Wiley affiliate, and it is now led by two black belts under him. The approach is self-defence first: building a base that focuses on dealing with common attacks like punches and headlocks — but we also enjoy being well-rounded practitioners in Gi and No Gi. We pride ourselves on creating a safety-first environment that welcomes everyone, regardless of experience or athletic ability. Standing and on the ground, including the common attacks that Gracie Jiu-Jitsu was built to answer.

  • What does a uniform cost, and are there fees for belt gradings?
  • Is there a contract, how long is it, and how do you cancel?
  • When does sparring start, and what protective gear is needed?
