Traditional Taekwondo. Higher Standards. Built on experience, expert instruction, and proven results. Voted 2026 Top Martial Arts School in Calgary and Canadian Choice Award Winner! Built on experience, expert instruction, and proven results. Choosing a martial arts school based on location is easy. Knowing your child is learning skills they can actually use to defend themselves takes a little more research. At Summit, students learn traditional Taekwondo, practical self-defence and sparring from experienced adult instructors. Belts are earned, expectations increase as students progress, and beginners are taught to rise to the standard—not given a different one. Our Takewondo School caters to the Southeast communities of Mahogany, New Brighton, Auburn Bay, Copperfield, Mckenzie Towne, Mckenzie Lake, Douglasdale, Cranston, Silverado, Quarry Park, Riverbend, Seton, Chaparral, and Rangeview. We are conveniently located in the same plaza as Greenhawk, just across the street from First Alliance Church.

Questions to ask before a first class

  • Which style does it teach, and is it about sport, tradition or self-defence?
  • Is there a trial class, and what does a beginner wear to it?
  • What does a uniform cost, and are there fees for belt gradings?
  • Is there a contract, how long is it, and how do you cancel?
  • When does sparring start, and what protective gear is needed?
